There are a couple cool talks on Friday for anyone interested in gaming. Details only just got announced, so wanted to make sure you were in the loop if this is up your alley. We really are spoiled with good speakers here! Announcement as follows:
Shanna Tellerman, founder of http://www.wildpockets.com/ is visiting the University of Edinburgh this Friday, 5th February.
WildPockets is a highly successful company that has developed an advanced online environment for games design, development and implementation. Shanna will host two sessions, one focussing on the entrepreneurial experience of starting up WildPockets, the other focussing on the technology, its capabilities and how to use it.
These sessions should be of wide interest to students and others in Informatics, Digital Media and related areas. Everyone is welcome.
Session 1. Entrepreneurship in games development
Venue: Informatics Forum, 10 Crichton Street, room G.07
Friday February 5, 11.00-12.30
Session 2. The WildPockets game design and development environment
Venue: Alison House, 12 Nicolson Square, the Atrium (MSc studio)
Friday February 5, 14.00-15.30 (flexible close)
Attendees to session 2 should feel free to bring a Windows laptop for hands-on experimentation. WildPockets will soon also be available for the Macintosh platform. See the WildPockets website for further information.
