Tuesday, 15th Feb: Edinburgh Night Owls, 7.30pm- late, Favorit

Got a side project that you’re working on? Or don’t fancy working 9-5pm? Come and join us at Edinburgh Night Owls on Tuesday night, 7.30pm-late. Wednesday, 16th Feb: Tech Law for Startups, 5.30pm for 6pm start, MBM Commerical

‘Tech Law for Startups’ is a monthly meetup for individuals planning, developing and growing high-growth businesses, primarily based around new technologies. By providing an open forum for individuals to come along to share knowledge and experiences, we are building a network of people who can learn and support each other in dealing with business issues.

Wednesday, 16th Feb, Lean startup circle, 7.30pm, Winterwell Offices

The Scottish Lean Circle is a practitioner-led group that focusses on taking internet products from a Minimum Viable Product to a scalable, repeatable business process. The Feb meeting will feature a presentation by Paul Wilson of Edge Case on Hut4 – their mobile wireframing MVP.  It will be in the Winterwell Offices in the Grassmarket at 7:30.
Come and hear how Skyscanner was formed and developed into what it is now – a leading on-line flight search site. Gareth Williams will outline its rapid growth, challenges that the company faced and discuss lessons learned and give advice to would be entrepreneurs in the audience. Gareth will also give insights into the current state of the on-line marketing sector and provide an overview about future developments in the on-line marketing industry. Skyscanner is a flight search engine that allows users to browse for flights via price and location. Additional tools such as fare graphs, allow users to compare flight prices of any given route over a month period, or the price of weekend flights from any given city.

Thursday, 17th Feb, ScotRUG, 7.30pm, Edinburgh Training Centre, 16 St Marys St

The Scottish Ruby User Group is a collection of people who are linked with Scotland and have an interest in Ruby and, invariably, Ruby on Rails. We meet every month for presentations from members and guests and a chat about Ruby and Ruby Related events. Everybody is welcome and there are no subscriptions/costs involved.

Friday, 18th Feb, Edinburgh Coffee Morning, 8am, Centotre

The ECM is a weekly gathering of East Coast producers, marketeers, writers, filmmakers, geeks and the occassional PR person at Centotre, 103 George Street. Come along any Friday, 8am-9am, to see what people have been up to that week, share ideas and make new contacts.
