If you are looking to start up a business, look no further! This is a fantastic incubator programme that is sadly approaching its final year, and they are holding an info session tomorrow 1pm for those of you interested in jumping on the opportunity. Hey, I’ll be there! If you’re uncertain, let Sarah talk you into it, or speak with current EPIS entrepreneurs – Alex, Simon, Patrick, and an assortment of others.
Jeremy Klar, E-Club guru, has kindly provided the following inside scoop:
EPIS/E-club Information Session and 1-on-1 Meetings, Wednesday, June 17th
13:00-13:30, followed by 10 minute, individual meetings until 15:00
LT4, University of Edinburgh Business School, 7 Bristo Square
The Edinburgh Pre-Incubator Scheme, EPIS, seeks entrepreneurs for its next (and possibly final round!!) of business funding. EPIS is a “business execution service” that takes fledgling entrepreneurs through an intense process of personal and business development. 92% of EPIS businesses are still trading! Come listen to Programme Director Adrian Smith explain the application process on Wednesday, June 17th in the University of Edinburgh Business School. He will be joined by a current EPIS entrepreneur who will speak about their experiences in the program. Following the talk, Adrian will be available to chat with interested E-club members in 10-minute appointments. Appointments can be made by emailing eclubedinburgh@gmail.com or at the talk.
While EPIS is focussed on supporting regional innovation, it is investing in bright people: entrepreneurs who can take a business to market in the next 12 months. Could this be you?
Your application should consist of the following three elements:
• A detailed C.V. of your academic and working life;
• A “wish list” of the facilities and equipment you would require the use of during your placement; and
• An outline project plan stating your objectives and how this would transform into your new business.
The deadline for grants is August 2, with placements starting September 2. More information is posted on the EPIS site.
If you are interested in receiving more information, but cannot attend the information session on June 17, please contact EPIS Programme Manager, Linda Brooks at Linda.brooks@ed.ac.uk
