There is no doubt that in the coming few years we will see things hotting up in the mobile market. Recently saw the release of the iPhone 3Gs and the Palm Pre, and there is little doubt that mobile application development is becoming much more mainstream.
iPhone apps are now becoming a well known market (watch out for a forthcoming article on the Eucalyptus), but another potential booming opportunity in 2010 is the Android market. Andrey Levushkin gave an insightful talk on the architecture for Android development at the June TechMeetup (available here). However, despite a number of android phones hitting the market in Q4, the android market is still a relatively unknown entity in the UK.
In order to find out more about opportunities in the Android market, we’ve gathered three of the brightest Android developers in Edinburgh for a meeting on 12th August:
- Kevin McDonagh – http://novoda.com/blog
- Tane Piper – http://learningandroid.org
- Andrey Levushkin (HedOut)
Getting them is the easy bit. Now we want to know what you want to know about the Android market. Are there any particular questions you’re desperately wanting to find out? or maybe you just want to know which are the best android apps to get? Either email us (hello@startupcafe.co.uk) or comment below with your questions!
