What’s your startup/business? Cadence Design Systems. We make design tools for the Electronics industry.
Give us your company culture in 3 words: innovative, global, corporate
What’s the next big challenge or hurdle the company needs to overcome? Growing into adjacent markets which require our expertise in developing design tools.
In one sentence, what’s the personal dream? To explore strange new worlds… To seek out new life; new civilisations… To boldly go where no one has gone before!
And the professional dream? To build high quality software systems that make the world a better place.
What do you do for stress relief? Judo, until I broke my collar bone. Now I just mope around waiting for it to heal.
Your favourite ’skint’ meal? Baked Potato, Butter, Beans and Corned Beef.
How do you celebrate milestones or awards? Quietly, with a few friends.
What’s your biggest guilty pleasure? It should be Hair Metal, but frankly I don’t feel particularly guilty about it at all. I’m a total Dream Theater fan-boy though, it’s quite embarrassing.
And the coolest event you’ve been to? I ran a Battle-of-the-Bands in my 6th year of high school, managed to sell about 300 tickets and gave 10 bands their first proper gig, all to raise money for charity (Children In Need I think).
Name a quirky fact about yourself: My elbows are double-jointed (apparently I have a high “ligamentous laxity”).
Given the choice, would you prefer…
i) Truth or Dare? Truth
ii) Carrot or Stick? Carrot
iii) Tea or Coffee? Coffee (unless it’s instant, in which case Tea, Earl Grey, Hot)
