Think back to last weekend… Friday, Saturday, Sunday… how much did you accomplish? Well ok, it may have been pretty busy, but what if someone suggested you should brainstorm, develop, and launch a startup in a single weekend? In what sounds like SICamp for web apps, Launch48 is coming up in the London area 4-6th June. Tickets are £29.95 for students, or £49.95 for grown ups. Thoughts from Sam Collins of Bloop and TechMeetup below, followed by the Launch48 details – it sounds incredible, so grab your ticket asap if you want to take part…
Launch48 is a really badass event – hackers and startup people get together for a weekend and build and launch a startup in 48 hours. I know there’s a bunch of things *like* this around the world, but Launch48 have been doing it for a while and they do it really well. I was at Seedcamp with a company from Launch48 last year – so yeah, that’s the sort of standard we’re talking about.
Highly recommend everyone to take a look and go for it if you’re even slightly interested. You’ll really learn about how to build Minimum Viable Product and you’ll get a first hand experience at how fast things can really move.
Launch48, a conference and entrepreneurial event, is back and running in London from the 4th to the 6th of June with speakers and mentors from Gumtree, Yahoo, PayPal, VMWare, Google, and many more attending and working closely with attendees.
The Launch48 Conference will cover all topics related to ‘The lifetime of a startup’ including how to structure, source funding, build a team, develop, scale, take investment, and exit a web or mobile startup.
The Launch48 Weekend is an entrepreneurial event that runs over 48 hours. Attendees can pitch an idea which is voted on and 6 teams are formed around the most popular ideas. Each team is structured like a business with a mixture of business, marketing, design, development, and management skills. During the Launch48 Weekend attendees are encouraged to learn new skills, work closely with a diverse range of people, and launch a new web or mobile app with lots of support from a range of highly skilled mentors.
Launch48 has a fantastic group of speakers and mentors attending both events including:
Katy Turner – Eden Ventures
Andy Budd – Clearleft
Hugh Chappell – Entrepreneur
