LAUNCH.ed, the University of Edinburgh’s support service for student-entrepreneurs, is recruiting a new intern for the 2010-2011 academic year.
This position is only open to current students at the University of Edinburgh. A full job spec has been posted on SAGE under the job title “Part-time Student Intern (September – April)”, and company name “The Edinburgh Technology Transfer Centre (ETTC)”. Here’s a teaser:
“You will be required to demonstrate flexibility, initiative and creativity to make the most of the opportunities available. You will complement the current activities of the LAUNCH.ed team to develop initiatives to stimulate entrepreneurship within the student population at the University of Edinburgh. The requirement will be both to support national (SIE) initiatives, but also to develop locally based projects, for the benefit of the LAUNCH.ed programme at the University.”
To that I would add that this is one of the best jobs for students around! It’s an excellent way to hook into the entrepreneurial community in Edinburgh, and to get professional experience in marketing, PR, event management, copywriting, and networking.
Keen candidates should head straight to the full job spec on SAGE, but should also check out The Scottish Institute for Enterprise and their social networking site, as well as LAUNCH.ed to find out more about what interns do. In addition, I have been the intern for the past two years and am happy to answer any questions about the position. Just email hilary@startupcafe.co.uk.
The deadline for all applications is 16 June 2010.
