The Launch Lab is a weekly session geared toward anyone who owns or is starting their own business. A highly varied group of energetic, intelligent people gather to exchange ideas, share critiques and encouragement, and feed each others’ vitality. Each week features a short talk at the beginning to kick things off, followed by general discussions and networking. This week freelance writer and coach Jane Adams’ short presentation will explain a basic and widely used coaching model and will give you a chance to try it out.
As the products we create become more complex and rely on an increasing number of screens and platforms, accurately communicating the intended design to programmers and other stakeholders is becoming increasingly important… and challenging. This presentation will discuss the challenges inherent in communicating the user experience throughout an organisation using only wireframes and other paper based documents. With a particular focus on mobile devices, Bryan Rieger and Stephanie Rieger will present ways to rethink prototyping and better communicate, test, and iterate ideas. £10 for non-members, £5 for students and free for Usability Professionals’ Association members. Pay at the door.
The purpose of this Circle is for Scottish Startups to learn lessons from each others activities (and indirectly from each others customers) so that the whole startup scene in Scotland matures. The Scottish Lean Circle is now open for business. Our first event will be a discussion on Customer Developement with Tom Griffiths of FanDuel (formerly HubDub) talking about their Customer Development work. Gordon Guthrie of Hypernumbers has been keeping us up to date on this group, so cheers Gordon and other volunteers for getting it going!
Are you interested in the potential of mobile in your or your client’s marketing mix but lack the information you need? This month’s speaker, Richard Marshall of Rapid Mobile Media will touch on the following key topics with practical examples: Why would a brand need a mobile presence? Will mobile make money? Will mobile increase brand awareness? There will be time for Q & A at the end of the session and as ever, over to the Assembly across the street for a few drinks and networking.
Lovely bunch of digital media, social media, and just generally fun folks chatting away and making new friends. The best way to start your Friday, and well worth the early arrival (you can trickle in 8-9am if that helps). It’s hard to get out of bed, but whenever I manage I’m always so happy I went!
