Tuesday 27th July: Social Boom Birthday Party, 6:30pm at Roxy Art House
Social Booms are fun, free and informal networking events for local individuals involved in the creative industries. If you live or work in Edinburgh and are keen to collaborate, network, learn new things, be inspired or find out what’s happening in your creative field, then Social Boom is for you! Our first Edinburgh Social Boom (#EdSocBoom) in May was really successful, so we’ve decided to host another one! This time we will have some very special sponsors and lots of birthday fun, including a cake-fuelled opportunity to raise money for Breast Cancer Care
As Rachel shouted out earlier, anyone want to organise this for the future? I am trying not to get involved in organising any more events, but will happily attend!
Wednesday 28th July: Social Media Conference, 2:30-10:30pm Online
Following the tremendous success of our customer-only Users Conference in June, five social media thought leaders are returning for another must-attend Vocus event – Retweet: Engagement Means Business. And this time, there’s no cost and it’s open to everyone. Join us from your desk for a free, full-day online conference where we will revisit five inspirational presentations via video filmed at our Washington, DC conference – and then give you the chance to put your questions to Deirdre Breakenridge, Beth Harte, Lee Odden, David Meerman Scott and Brian Solis in live audio Q&A sessions.
Wednesday 28th July: Glasgow TechMeetup, 7pm at 103 Trongate 5th Floor
Monthly gathering for anyone interested in tech, from developers to startups to innocent curiosities. It’s a thriving grassroots effort, and each month generally features a small variety of presentations to share expertise on what people are up to and what they have learned along the way. This month, it looks like Craig Nicol will be speaking about HTML5. Enjoy free beer, pizza and good chat!
