Between 21st-24th Feb, Bill Joos, the pitch doctor is coming to town to help you perfect your pitch.

Bill is awesome – partly because he’s quite the Scottish Rugby fan (and we sort of need everyone of those at the moment) – but mostly because he makes his courses very interactive and provides real hands on advice. So not much talking, but lots of doing.

Added to this, Bill used to be partners with Guy Kawasaki back in their VC days, so he’s seen more than enough pitches and slidedecks to give insightful tips and tricks about pitching and what investors are looking for.

I really can’t heap enough praise on how worthwhile his workshops are. I pull out his slide deck on a regular basis, even 12 months on: and there aren’t a lot of courses that I could say that about. I went out and brought my own presentation clicker on his recommendation. If you were at my Launch48 pitch, I basically based my slidedeck on that. He is one of the few people that I wouldn’t hesitate to tell people to go and see.

Seriously, if you’re working on a starting out for the first time, you really need to get yourself to this course.

Bill Joos visit for w/c 21 Feb
We’ve got Bill Joos, the ”Pitch Doctor”, from Go To Market Consulting, Palo Alto, California coming over to Edinburgh again w/c 21 February.
Bill will be conducting two days of interactive seminars focused on specifically preparing and delivering the all-critical ‘Elevator Pitch’,  as well as the initial PowerPoint presentation to attract investors, and customers.
This event would be useful for any companies (with an informatics connection) that will be seeking investment now and in the future – link below to the Eventbrite page for relevant companies to register. This site also has further details on the event.

The first day of the event will be for all attendees and cover the Top Ten Mistakes Made in Business Plans;Perfecting Your ‘Short Building’ Elevator Pitch; Perfecting Your Pitching; and The Power of an Advisory Board.
The second day, later in the week (on either Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday), will be held in smaller groups and focus on How to Hold an Investor Meeting, and to further develop and practice their pitches.
Ideally, we would like 2 people from each enterprise to attend, but realise this may not always be possible.
The workshops will be held in the Informatics Forum building in Edinburgh.

Bill will also be doing an E-Club event on 23 February.
