You might be interested to know that the first time Eric Ries of Lean Startup and David Heinemeier Hansson engaged in debate was actually in London last year. Or that, at the very same time and place, several conversations were starting between designers and entrepreneurs, laying the foundations for the Lean UX movement we’re seeing grow today. And the producer of Business Model Generation, who is the CEO of Business Models Inc., was there too, creating the first connections between Business Model Generation and Customer Development – which is why you see “business model canvasses” being used so often as a startup tool today. This was all at an event called Leancamp. Why should you care?
Because Leancamp is birthplace of many startup methods and techniques that will help you get market traction faster – and it will be in Edinburgh this Saturday! For free!Leancamp combines methods from the Lean, Agile and the Design world, which have given huge boosts to the software, manufacturing and marketing industries by ensuring that businesses stay connected to the needs of their customers. The day-long event will host at least a dozen sessions from global and local thought leaders such as Patrick Vlaskovits (custdev.com), Saliim Virani (Leancamp), Antonio Terrano (Forward / Invisible Hand), Gordon Guthrie (Hypernumbers), Johanna Kollman (EMC), Colin Hewitt (FloatApp), Nigel Eccles (HubDub) & Kelley Boyd (Lean Startup Machine). Plus, the day allows for participants to create sessions on the topics most important to them, like a Barcamp. If there are specific things you want to learn or discuss, you’ll have the chance to have them covered too!
Places are limited, though the hosts, UCL Advances and LAUNCH.ed are working on expanding the space to make room for more attendees.
