e-products, a software development company in Edinburgh, has a job opportunity for a passionate programmer looking to gain more experience and skills.
“I’m looking for a graduate or junior programmer to work on a migration project for a large client in the insurance industry. There are over 100 screens written in an old Intranet technology and they need to be ported across to our new xaf platform.
“The main technologies are C#, JavaScript, XSL, HTML, CSS, XML & SQL. Experience with all technologies isn’t mandatory but experience with web development is a must as there is a lot of client side code. The other technologies can be learned on the job.
“Good communication, quick learning & team working skills are essential. This is a good opportunity to work with and learn from senior programmers in a small but growing software house.”
Contact Trevor Cattle if you are interested: trevor@e-products.co.uk. Not only is he a friendly and enthusiastic guy, Trevor is a chartered IT professional (CITP) and has been programming for the past 9 years. He is willing to invest time in the right person as long as they experience in web technologies and are quick learners.
Good lad, I would be a suitable candidate myself if it were not for C# as my background is PHP.
I would say that knowing a brief use of C at college, it may not simply be the case to educate on the job as C compiler can get seriously complicated, very quickly… much like Java in my opinion.
And if I remember C# is the object oriented aspect of C compiler, so you are not developing to a procedural environment, but to an object oriented environment, adding that edge more complexity, particularly if the would be candidate has little experience with OO methodologies.
But at least the project lead is willing to give some ground and that may just be enough to get this project off the ground.
If you are looking for quality internet marking people with great skills in all areas, I would look into the Philippines, Great people with a good work ethic at a bargain price, and they speak English. They do excellent work, that’s what I use, and I save thousands.
Ah thanks for the tip! Will draw Trevor’s attention to the suggestion =)
Hi
I’m pleased to see that you mention that Trevor Cattle is a Chartered IT Professional. Your readers might want to read my colleague’s post on what being a Chartered IT Professional (CITP) is all about.
I’m hoping that Trevor will encourage whoever he recruits to follow in his footsteps to become a chartered professional. The web design industry sorely needs them!
