Vibio.com – lead by CEO Simon Montford – has just closed a $1 million seed funding round (£680,000) with Scottish Angel syndicate group Archangel. Simon, who was an EPIS entrepreneur back in 2008, is a seasoned entrepreneur after starting iCollector back in the day, pre-dot com bubble. iCollector was an auction site, similar to eBay and he’s previously talked at techmeetup about his experiences.
This time round, he’s taking another bite at the auction game – although he’s taking it to a new level. Attempting to leap frog eBay, he’s launched Vibio (currently in private beta) to add a social network element to selling items on eBay and other ecommerce sites.
Users will be able to let their friends have first refusal when buying or selling items online. If there’s no luck with your friends, vibio will help you track and sell on eBay and amazon.com.
Sounds good? Excellent. You can check it out on vibio.com.
