Tuesday 19th October: Launch Lab – the WordPress Session, 9am at Renroc
Blogging can be a great way to promote your business and engage with your customers. This week at Launch Lab, Ian Mackay (Epitome Solutions), Doug Holmes (Zeal Internet Marketing), and Dan Frydman (Inigo Media) will be giving an overview of how to set up a blog for your business using the WordPress blogging platform, what to write on it, and how to get the right people reading it.
Tuesday 19th October: Glasgow Web Centric Meetup, 7pm at The 78, Glasgow
Gather at The 78 at 7pm for some chat on all things web-related – it’s very informal, but feel free to bring along demos, designs, questions, news or whatever’s of interest for you right now.
Wednesday 20th October: OpenCoffee Club, 10am at Informatics Forum Roof Garden (4th Floor)
This is the Edinburgh branch of the OpenCoffee Club which is an informal setting where entrepreneurs, developers and investors can drop in and network.
Wednesday 20th October: E-Club Pitching Competition for £1000, 6:30pm at Business School Auditorium
Six startups go head-to-head with a panel of dragons awarding £1000 on the night… Come show your support, learn from the comfort of your seat, and see some cool new tech companies! Contestants will include some familiar faces from Float, Peekabu, Fikdu, Nested, Restored Hearing, and EasyPyro. It’s open to everyone and free wine reception to follow.
Wednesday 20th October: Mobile Apps Group, 6:30pm at Inspace, Informatics Forum
John Williamson will be talking about Shoogle, a product of his group’s research that now features in some Nokia handsets. Shoogle answers the question “How do you fit more balls into a Nokia phone?” Mobile Apps Group is open to anyone interested, and there’s free pizza and beer as well.
