Happy Global Entrepreneurship Week everybody! Yes, 15th-21st of November is Global Entrepreneurship Week – “Make a job, Don’t take a job!” As it happens, there are lots of events to celebrate 🙂
Tuesday 16th November: Launch Lab – The Future, 9am at RenRoc (89-91 Montgomery)
The Launch Lab is a weekly session geared toward anyone who owns or is starting their own business. A highly varied group of energetic, intelligent people gather to exchange ideas, share critiques and encouragement, and feed each others’ vitality. The organiser of this group has just been hired (yay!) and therefore tomorrow’s event will be networking and also discussing the future and how we can take Launch Lab further by evening/future events.

Gather at The 78 at 7pm for some chat on all things web-related – it’s very informal, but feel free to bring along demos, designs, questions, news or whatever’s of interest for you right now.
This is the Edinburgh branch of the OpenCoffee Club which is an informal setting where entrepreneurs, developers and investors can drop in and network.

Greedy business stereotypes are so 1999. For anyone who wants to change the world, tonight’s talk will look at the realm of Social Innovation and hear from several companies who are out there making their marks today.
Wednesday 17th November: Scottish Lean Circle, 7pm at Winterwell HQ – 39A Grassmarket
In these sessions internet startups will share the details of their proposition, customer development activities, tools and techniques. The strategic aim of these sessions is for companies to learn from each others mistakes and successes and for startup teams to have an environment to support each other. The company presenting this month will be cash flow projection software FloatApp.
Thursday 18th November: Student Market Trade Show, 7:30pm-9pm at Appleton Tower Concourse
StartupCafe will be exhibiting… if that’s not reason enough, how about free drinks and food? 🙂 Student Market is an online market designed specifically for students with skills, services or products they wish to sell to other students and their affiliates within Edinburgh. Their first Trade Show will take place 18th November, so let’s head over to show our support, mingle, and explore all the cool new businesses!
