New Approaches to Leadership for Aspiring Women Entrepreneurs, Managers & CEOs, 31st August, 11-8pm
Run by Professor Fiona Murray, MIT Sloan School of Management and Laura Barker Morse, Managing Director, Entrepreneurship Ventures, Inc.
A high quality afternoon seminar and workshop for Entrepreneurs, CEOs and their business executives from innovative, fast-growing companies, featuring case studies and lectures, interactive discussions, participants presentations, “hands-on” exercises, and the opportunity to practice “elevator sales pitches” to potential customers, employees and board members.
Our theme will be “Mobile Widgets” which nicely dovetails with our recurring theme of mobile apps vs mobile web apps. Mobile widget systems typically allow the development of mini applications using standard browser technologies but with the ability to directly access
phone features in various ways.
Our guests are from the Open Mobile Terminal Platform standards body, whose BONDI project (http://bondi.omtp.org) is focused on establishing a standard and secure way of providing access to phone features from javascript.
Keynote Speech, RunRev Live 09, 6.30pm, Dynamic Earth
Dr Robert Cailliau who co-invented the World Wide Web (with Tim Berners-Lee), will be speaking at 6.30pm in Edinburgh on 1st September at Dynamic Earth. He will be recalling the web’s creation, including Scotland’s contribution, and also focussing on future direction. He is an engaging and passionate speaker.

The final workshop in the first cycle of the (highly-acclaimed-by-scots-entrepreneurs) series of workshops with the Global Entrepreneurship Team. International Entrepreneurship Educators Conference, 2nd – 4th Sept, Heriot-Watt University
Enterprise Educators and the NCGE are delighted to announce this year’s International Entrepreneurship Educators Conference will be held at the Edinburgh Conference Centre at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh from 2nd-4th September. The Principal Sponsor for IEEC 2009 will be Informatics Ventures at the University of Edinburgh.
This year’s Conference theme is ‘Advancing Enterprise Education’. Within that, there are several broad themes: ‘raising awareness’, ‘enterprise in context: teaching methods’, ‘pollcy in action’ and ‘pathways for learning’.

You have to be careful here as the sizing isn’t consistent amongst

if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have
no coding skills so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience.
