You can get some real work done this week and catch your breath, but do keep up your event social life with a few options here. Drop by OpenCoffee Club if you’ve never checked it out before, as there are always some interesting folks to meet and you can just stay for as long as suits your schedule. Take advantage of Shell LiveWIRE’s free chats as well if you can manage on Thursday (oh yeah, free lunch!), and have a look at the happenings for iPhone developers and Digital Britain grant hunters.
OpenCoffee Club: Wednesday, 16th Sept, 10am at Informatics Forum Roof Garden
An excellent choice of venue for this monthly meetup, you can find all sorts of business folks at OpenCoffee Club. Enjoy the informal setting intended for entrepreneurs, developers and investors to drop in and network, and kick-start your morning with extra tea, coffee, and biscuits. Access the roof garden from the 4th floor, and Jess will try to send some more sunshine from California.
iPhone Bootcamp: 16th-18th Sept at Forest Studio [Now Cancelled]
The Edinburgh iPhone Boot Camp: How to Monetize with the 3.0 SDK Software is for iPhone Developers to meetup up, network and improve their iPhone development skills in training workshops with some of the top iPhone developers in the world. Alex Cone, leading NYC iPhone Developer and trainer for the iPhone Boot Camp NYC, will discuss in depth iPhone 3.0 and what it means commercially for developers. The event takes place above Forest Cafe near Bristo Square (an amusing choice of venue for a techie event, but hey, good falafel and tea!). Registration is £1000, but get in touch with Jonathan Sarno via the Meetup page if you are interested.
Shell LiveWIRE in Scotland: Thursday, 17th Sept, 10am-6pm at Apex Waterloo Hotel
