Showcasing Scottish Mobile Talent: Monday 30th Nov, 6:30pm at Informatics Forum
At this special Mobile Monday event, MoMo Edinburgh is holding a series of short pitches by companies wishing to represent the group at the Global Peer Awards in Barcelona in February, followed by a series of short demos showcasing the capabilities of the companies involved. Will be lots of cool stuff being demonstrated. Looks like tickets are sold out, but you may be able to squeeze in if there are no shows.
Elevator Networking Event: Monday 30th Nov, 6:30pm at Why Not Nightclub (George St)
A free business networking club for folks 18-30 years old, these events are pitched at young entrepreneurs and people who are considering setting up their own businesses. The event is put on by Shell LiveWIRE and PSYBT, and I’ve heard good reviews from folks who have attended. They tend to be relaxed and social, and about 60 people go along. No need to RSVP, just show up.
Business Forum Breakfast with Digital DNA and Roadside Testing: Wednesday 2nd Dec, 8-10am at Scottish Enterprise, Apex House
2 Proof of Concept spinout projects are the focus of this Business Forum event, which will feature Jamie Graves of Digital DNA and Jane Queenan & Dr Paul Henderson of Roadside Drug Testing Device. It’s not just a “talking heads” type of event – attendees participate in the discussion groups and offer suggestions to the companies on how they can develop their business. In this Silicon Valley Speaker Series talk, venture capitalist Sean Foote will discuss the meaning of Microfinance, its impact, and its future. Sean will delve into what opportunities exist for entrepreneurs in this new space. This is the last E-Club event of the year, so worth going along if you can. The talk and Q&A will go 6:30-8pm, and then wine and crisps afterward. No RSVP needed, just join in.
