Java User Group Scotland (brilliantly abbreviated JUGS) has moved its meetings to Appleton Tower to accommodate more folks, so you can check them out tonight 7pm, room 6.01 if you’re interested – I am trying so hard not to make a horrible pun about checking out JUGS in Appleton (oh man, I slipped).
Tonight Andrew Williams will be talking about writing webapps in a non-scary way, and you’ll find more details from him below 🙂 JUGS meetings take place monthly on the last Wednesday of the month, so if my math is correct, mark your calendars for 26th May as well!
Our next meeting will be held in Room 6.01 in Appleton Tower (map) at 7pm on 28th April. This month Andrew Williams will be talking about “Building Object Oriented WebApps with Wicket” there will be some demos and a chance for discussion also. As this is exam time access to Appleton Tower is by the basement entrance in the car park (on the east side of the building) rather than the main entrance on Crichton Street. There will be a signpost and possibly a JUGS member at the door.
“Want to make a webapp but scared of the unending need to write XML, Javascript and servlets? Enter Wicket a framework for writing object oriented webapps that are quick to develop, easy to test and work with plain XHTML.”
We hope to see you there! More details at http://ukjugs.org/display/main/Meetings or http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=116212048396650.
