Today, I headed up to Stirling Management Centre to attend the “Be Inspired to Innovate” event held by EDTC. Briefly, it was a series of 6 workshops, all by entrepreneurs about how they took their product from idea, to prototype, and then to market.

Social enterprise startup – Flock Local – is through to the National Finals in the John Logie Baird awards! They’re up for the Social Enterprise Innovator category and this is more surprising considering it was only two weeks ago that we blogged about FlockLocal launching into beta!
Best of luck to James and the rest of the Flock Local team. The award winners will be announced on 12th March.

A few months ago, I mentioned that the Guardian was hiring local beatbloggers. In particular, I was intrigued by why the Guardian picked Edinburgh, Cardiff and Leeds – it struck me that these cities didn’t have a whole lot in common.
